Four (4) pillows on the bed! The room I was in had a very attractive modern design with Japanese aesthetic. It gave me the feeling of being in more than just a hotel. I did take advantage of a promotional (mid-week) deal, which made everything all the more appealing. I felt as though I was well above my usual price class. Location is in quiet residential area about 10-12 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. Closest morning eating options will be there. As long as you don't mind the morning walk .. or get breakfast supplies at konbini (hotel provides tea, coffee). Before arrival, I did wonder about the reception desk hours of noon to 9pm. It's not a 24h service hotel. But, it wasn't a problem at all. They had their system worked out and everything was explained at check-in. Also, I don't need 24h service.

- close proximity to Kyoto station (trains, subway) and multiple bus stops in the area - away from super touristy spots, so it's quiet and buses will have space on them - we had a quiet room on the top floor - room was spacious and beds were comfy - the lighting in the room is very nice, especially the dimmer light on the accent wall - staff was friendly and helpful, they held our luggage upon early arrival and after checking out for a few hours -we stayed for 6 nights and got 1 full housekeeping service in the middle of our stay - water always got hot quickly and they provided shampoos, plenty of towels, slippers and robes -there was a mini fridge in the room and the lobby has a microwave and vending machine which was handy

This was a wonderful, budget hotel that provided exceptional value for money. Our room was small but cosy and big enough for the two of us. The room was clean and had everything we needed. There were washing machines that you could use in the hotel lobby area and this worked well for us. The rooms do not get cleaned every day but we were happy with this (1 clean if you stay 4 nights+, no clean for shorter stays). The hotel had a lovely feel and was around a 10-15 minutes easy walk from Kyoto station. There are no meal facilities but it was very easy to get to local shops and restaurants. A lovely, quiet location. We would love to go back.

Hotel was about 10-15 minutes walk westwards from the kyoto station in a quiet area. Arrived just before 9 when reception was still open and received the room key. Hotel had also accepted our bags that were couriered from Osaka before our arrival and had put them in our room. The rooms are modern and clean with quite large bathrooms for Japan. The hotel also had laundry facilities which were easy to use. Rarely saw other guests at the hotel and the noise didn't carry much in the corridors.

The location was great once we found the best way to get to it from the station - the position in the back streets made it quite quiet and the 10 minute walk to the station wasn't onerous. There was space at the back of the room to place our three large bags. The desk staff were very helpful and their ability to speak English was an added bonus. However, not having them avaiable between 9pm and midday the next day was somewhat difficult.
